Deployment and Implementation Strategy (DAIS)

Get the most from your Revit investment through our customer specific structured implementation process. Digital Construction are specialist users, trainers and implementers of all Revit software systems, Architectural, Structural and MEP.

During our eight years of implementation consulting to over one hundred Revit clients internationally, we have established and honed a methodology for minimising the impact and maximising the opportunity inherent with the integration of Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology. Collectively referred to as the Deployment And Implementation Strategy (DAIS), it is a compilation of protocols and advice specifically tailored to organisations that are adopting the Autodesk Revit® software platform for their projects.

Revit Platform

The Revit platform is Autodesk's purpose-built solution for Building Information Modelling (BIM). Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, and Revit MEP are complete, discipline-specific systems supporting design and construction documentation, as well as links out to analysis tools and database manipulation software.

Deployment and Implementation Strategy

While no two implementation plans are identical, all have common elements and a common strategy to ensure success. The protocols that we employ have been developed through the experiences gained from deploying and implementing Revit products.

In very brief terms, the methodology can be tracked through four distinct phases of Assessment, Planning, Solving and Confirming with clearly defined tasks and objectives for each phase, the highlights of which are:

  • Phase 1 - Assess

The Assessment phase of the process is essentially an information gathering exercise, where all aspects of the company come under scrutiny, including:

  • Existing hardware and network specification
  • Folder structures for libraries, CAD standards and projects
  • Design process workflow
  • Corporate objectives
  • Personnel roles, responsibilities, skills and goals

  • Phase 2 - Plan

In arguably the most important section of this process, the information gathered during the assessment phase is used to develop a comprehensive plan to guide the implementation to success. This phase sets expectation for both sides of the implementation and establishes the milestones against which the status is reviewed and the progress of the project is measured.

  • Phase 3 - Solve

In the Solve phase, you carry out the implementation plan, which will include:

  • Customisation of templates and graphical output
  • Fine-tuning the design workflow
  • The training of key infrastructure personnel and champions
  • Project start-up
  • Commence training, consultancy and master-class delivery

  • Phase 4 - Confirm

The Confirm phase sounds simple but is a critical aspect of this process in acknowledging that key objectives have been realised, any challenges have been met and the successes have been identified and the associated lessons learned.
